The Membership Path
Membership begins the Journey of Deeper Commitment
Church membership represents a deeper connection with your faith community. To help you discern whether Birmingham Unitarian Church membership is right for you, we encourage you to attend a variety of services, join us for fellowship activities, and attend one or all of our Getting to Know UU classes (offered four times a year). There are many ways of discovering community at BUC: through worship, learning, fellowship, service, and giving. Please take a look at our Social Justice page and our Fellowship Groups page for listings of available opportunities .
Membership is both simple and difficult. It is easy to sign the Membership Book. It is challenging because of what this simple act means: that a person has made a decision to join a faith community that is searching for truth, working for justice, and whose members would live in loving relationship with one another. It also means making a commitment to the financial health and stability of the church. Before you join, please read this booklet and take the opportunity to meet with our minister. Then, complete the two forms at the back and bring them with you when you sign the Book. We look forward to welcoming you as a member. Click on the picture of our Membership Path booklet to read more.
